So during my most recent project, I was struggling to figure out how to use a specific python module. It wasn’t well documented and the discussion threads on the project gave hints but the answers weren’t specific enough or complete enough.

This is a project that gets a video clip and cuts it into multiple video clips that are within the Instagram Story time limit (as of time of writing 60s). Written in Python, CI/CD with GitLab, Infrastructure is currently in Google Cloud Platform.

Throughout my travels across East Asia and South America I created many Instagram stories, that my followers surely enjoyed, however, one annoyance I had was that stories can only be sixty seconds long.

Before I could start creating new content for this site I had to change a lot to get it working again, to be in a more reliable situation going forward and to make it a project I was proud to show off.

I’ve not given enough love to this website in the last few years. So I’m coming back with more energy than ever and looking to enhance the site and add more content continuously going forward.

Veering away from the type of content that I’ve been writing so far I thought I would cover a technical tutorial on how to use custom icons in the skills section of the Academic theme in Hugo.
